Bio
Bas Aja has been the lead government relations expert for the Arizona Cattlemen’s Association for 25 years. Bas is the Executive Vice President of the Arizona Cattle Feeders’ Association, Executive Director of the Arizona Beef Council and Director of Government Relations for the Arizona Cattlemen’s Association.
Bas has served on water commissions under 4 different Az Governors; Arizona-Mexico Commission; President George W. Bush’s Natural Resources and Agriculture Transition Team; and numerous Legislative study committees dealing with the environment, land use and taxes. He has been involved in many candidate and statewide ballot campaigns over the past 25 years.
Aja’s areas of expertise include Arizona politics, natural resource, environmental and agricultural taxation laws and regulations; livestock and futures markets; international import/export markets for livestock and meats. He has extensive experience in resource management planning. He studied finance and political science at the University of Arizona.
Bas was born and raised in an Arizona livestock ranching family with 3 generations of experience in managing range and livestock resources in Arizona. A native of Arizona, he is married to an educator (Gigi) and has four children.
