Bio
Katie Hazlewood lives in Chino Valley, Arizona, but her roots trace back to Wyoming, where she was involved in 4-H and FFA from a young age. Her early passion for livestock shaped her educational path, leading her to earn both a bachelor's and a master's degree in animal science with a focus on beef cattle. Driven by a desire to share her knowledge and gain new perspectives in agriculture, Katie made the move to Arizona, where she now serves as an Assistant Livestock Agent with the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension in Yavapai County.

In this role, Katie supports ranchers and livestock owners by addressing current challenges and providing science-based guidance on best practices and emerging technologies. Through collaboration with fellow extension agents, industry experts, and government partners, she works to strengthen Arizona’s livestock industry by building strong relationships and delivering impactful education across the region.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys exploring Arizona with her husband. Whether camping, hiking, or kayaking, she finds joy in the outdoors, especially in the mountains. As a newer Arizona resident, she loves discovering new places and hidden gems across the state. Whenever they can, Katie and her husband also enjoy traveling to visit family in southern Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming.
