Bio
John Wirtjes currently works in the Water Group of Salt River Project (SRP), a $2.8 billion public power utility providing power and water services to more than 2 million Arizona residents. John has been with SRP for 30 years, during which time he has held several positions throughout the company. John is actively involved in numerous organizations and is passionate about serving the community
An active community leader, John has many affiliations with different organizations including: Alumni of Project CENTRL Class XXIV and Alumni of Leadership West Class XIV where he has served as a member of the selection committee; Past Executive Board member for St. Mary’s Food Bank and Loaned Executive for Valley of the Sun United Way. John is a past recipient of the SRP President’s Volunteer Spirit Award for volunteering his time to local nonprofit organizations.
John graduated from the Arizona Judicial College and serves as an appointed Pro Tempore Judge for Maricopa County Justice Court. In addition to his role as Pro Tempore Judge he has served as a Hearing Officer for over 20 years.
John resides in the West Valley and is a father of three. He enjoys hunting, flying, golfing and spending time with his grandson.
