Bio
Jeremy D. Krones is the program manager of Diablo Trust, a local environmental nonprofit in northern Arizona dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture and collaborative land and resource management. Originally from Maryland, Jeremy has worked on and managed farms of a variety of types and sizes in the US, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. He graduated in 2013 with a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a focus on ecological anthropology. Jeremy was first introduced to the unique socio-ecology of the American Southwest while participating in the Grand Canyon Semester at Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Flagstaff, AZ. He returned to Arizona in March 2014 to manage the ranch’s commercial vegetable production. After a year on the ranch, Jeremy was hired as the program manager of Diablo Trust in January 2015.

As an active community member in Flagstaff, he is also involved in local politics, sits on the Environmental Caucus at NAU, and runs two book clubs, a community service organization, and a documentary discussion group. Jeremy’s chosen career path reflects his deep belief in the importance of strong local communities, environmental conservation, and active management of our precious open spaces, from the mountainous wilderness of upstate New York to the spacious rangeland of northern Arizona.
