Bio
Born in the Central Valley of California surrounded by the farming and ranching she loves, Ellen moved to Arizona to attend Northern Arizona University at age 19 and fell in love with the diverse climates and landscapes of this state. After her graduation from NAU and her marriage to her high school sweetheart Chris Parish, they bought a home in Mormon Lake and raised their two daughter there. Ellen home schooled the girls and the three of them could often be found in the remote regions of Northern Arizona with Chris doing field work. Ellen volunteered as a 4H group and project leader, is a yoga teacher, served on the Coconino County Parks and Recreation Commission, is the current president of Diablo Trust and is a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the Mormon Lake fire district. In her free time she loves to ride her horse, garden, hike and kayak. Ellen is a ceramic artist and enjoys time on her potters wheel making functional pieces that reflect her love of the outdoors. Her passion for people and community as well as open, wild landscapes keep her engaged and excited about this beautiful place she calls home.
