Bio
Taylor Howerter is the Assistant Superintendent of the Roosevelt Irrigation District. He has a diverse background including farming, engineering, construction, business management, welding, machining, project management, contract negotiation, grant application and grant award management.

Taylor was born in Scottsdale, Arizona but grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanized Systems Management from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Taylor returned to the Grand Canyon State in July of 2019 and has been there since.

Taylor's current position entails managing and operating an irrigation and electrical district in the West Valley near Buckeye. The District is comprised of 36 employees, serving water and power to approximately 38,000 acres of mostly agricultural lands. The current urbanization growth into the District presents him with many opportunities and challenges to maintain the ongoing operational precedent set by the District's founders more than 100 years ago. From the Hill in Washington D.C. to the last well on the far west side of the District, Taylor strives to be a conscious steward of the land, power grid, community, and water table.

Taylor, as part of his role within RID, is also an alternate vote board member for the Agribusiness and Water Council of Arizona, the Irrigation and Electrical Districts Association, and the Southwest Public Power Agency. Taylor stays as involved as possible in these organizations in order to ensure the best representation of the District, Arizona agriculture, rural power, and the community.

Taylor enjoys the small things, and in his free time he likes to golf, travel, scuba dive, fish, hunt, and build small engineering projects. He recently married Vanessa and enjoys time with her and their dogs Mikey and Molly as well. Family is a cornerstone of his life and most of his travels include family activities with both his and Vanessa's parents, brothers, sisters, cousins, and friends.
